HAIST launches in Europe with an exclusive release of the HAIST x TAKU OBATA at Concrete Amsterdam on May 23

CHASE — Artist Series, edition of 100

A limited edition of the CHASE sneaker. Inspired by Japanese jade tones, featuring Taku's B-BOY logo on the back heel and his illustrations on the insole. Each pair includes a unique handmade, individually numbered concrete tile, matching the edition number of the shoe.

BUTTAI — Concrete sculpture, edition of 15

BUTTAI originated as a wooden sculpture. Through a 3D scan of the original, it has been reborn in concrete. Concrete, the material that forms the roads and streets beneath our feet. It is what physically wears down a sneaker sole. It is the surface that gives the shoe its purpose. By casting this work in that same material, BUTTAI becomes a true street sculpture. Not placed in the street, but made from it. Produced in the Netherlands in an edition of 15.

The collection launches at GR8 Store in Tokyo. All three CHASE colorways will be available, and Obata’s artwork can be seen from May 8th until May 10th.

The artist edition is created in partnership with Japanese artist Taku Obata, whose practice is rooted in b-boy culture. Known for translating bodies in motion into bold, sculptural forms, Obata brings the energy of dance into the collaboration—reinterpreting the silhouette through movement and form.

Extending the project beyond the sneaker, Obata also created an exclusive sculpture inspired by the HAIST x Taku edition, transforming the design into a physical artwork that captures its motion and spirit.
